Scream retains the elements that made the franchise successful in the first place by providing a satirical premise that pokes fun at horror movie clichés. It also channeled nostalgia well, with Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and New Campbell reprising their roles. While the feeling that the franchise has run its course isn’t shaken, Scream does a good job of getting things back on track.

An adaptation of Joe Hill’s short story of the same name, The Black Phone follows Finny Shaw (Mason Thames), a shy boy with a troubled home life who is haunted by a notorious child abductor and serial killer. has kidnapped a man called Gerber (Ethan). Hawk). However, Shaw soon realizes that he can communicate with Graber’s dead victims through a disconnected black phone—and that they may hold the key to his survival. The Black Phone is a fascinating and surprising story that is largely elevated by the extraordinary performances of its young cast and its vivid portrayal of child abuse and addiction. It is further heightened by the intrigue of a touch of the supernatural. In the end, though, it’s a bit stilted and fails to find depth or ambition outside of recreating the source material.

The film follows psychiatrist Dr. Rose Cotter (Susie Bacon), who is tormented by an entity that takes the form of a smiling predator. In an effort to fight this entity, Kotter must face a trauma from his past. Smile is a terrifying, deliciously creepy, and deeply disturbing horror thriller. It’s full of jump scares and disturbing visuals, but also a deep message about trauma and grief that requires individual interpretation. Although the ending is a bit predictable and its treatment of mental illness a bit questionable, Smile is a truly thrilling film to watch and one that won’t fade from memory anytime soon.

The criminally talented Tilda Swinton will also star alongside Fassbender, rumored to be playing a rival assassin. Reports have indicated that the production of this highly anticipated thriller is yet to be confirmed with an official release date of 2023.

It’s been four years since Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese gifted moviegoers with a feature film. The man behind such cinematic classics as The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Goodfellas returns with the period crime thriller Colors of the Flower Moon. A film that marks his sixth collaboration with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and his tenth with lifelong muse Robert De Niro. Tackling a new genre with his first Western, Scorsese is adapting David Grann’s 2017 nonfiction novel, Colors of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, which features at least twenty The story of the murdered members is told. 2021 saw Jake Gyllenhaal star in the modest and restrained Netflix thriller The Guilty. It was a remake of the (somewhat superior) Danish film of the same name. 2022 sees the Donnie Darko starrer in another remake of the Danish flick, this time a less modest and restrained Ambulance. How do we know the levels of decency and restraint in this heist thriller? Well, it’s directed by Armageddon and Transformers man Michael ‘Crash Bang Wallop’ Bay.Lily Gladstone and Leonardo DiCaprio will star in Colors of the Flower Moon.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese’s latest Prestige project sees him team up not only with Leonardo DiCaprio, but once again with Robert De Niro. Frequent contributors come together to create a Western crime epic that tackles a real-life cover-up surrounding the serial murders of several members of the Osage Nation based in oil-rich Oklahoma in the 1920s. Based on the non-fiction book of the same name by journalist David Grann.

In 2019, the tongue-in-cheek Who Don’t Noise Out was a surprise hit with critics and audiences alike. A sequel was immediately developed and will be released in 2022. Daniel Craig returns as extraordinaire detective Benoit Blanc, with another pair standing by.

This time Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Muni, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson and Ethan Hawke took the field. Netflix paid a staggering $469m for the rights and another sequel, Craig said, along with $100m. For both the films – so expect a big push from the streaming giant when the film’s release date rolls around.

Kenneth Branagh’s second outing as Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot has been two years in the making but will finally hit cinemas in February. 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, while not incredible, was pretty cool and a great way to spend a couple of hours. Its follow-up trades a train for a boat, with Poirot aboard the SS Karnak where – wouldn’t you know it – someone is angry. Gal Gadot, Letitia Wright, Annette Bening, Armie Hammer, Russell Brand, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are among the most likely suspects.

The Gray Man

Netflix’s spending spree continued as it signed a £200m check to Avengers: End Game directors Joseph and Anthony Russo to create an epic crime/spy action thriller extravaganza starring a pair of A-listers. Can be seen in front. Ryan Gosling is a CIA operative betrayed by the agency and forced to become a rogue. Chris Evans, a former colleague and friend, is sent to track her down and take her out. Rising starlet Anna D’Armes continues her ascent to superstardom in a supporting role.Brad Pitt will star in Bullet Train.

The book by Japanese author KōtarōIsaka has been adapted into a crime thriller starring a whole host of famous faces including Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Betz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Bad Bunny. and Sandra Bullock included. The general gist is a group of highly skilled killers trying to kill each other and survive on a high-speed train. The setting is London’s over-exuberant West End in the 1950s. A murder in Theaterland turns into a shocking whodunit for Rockwell and Ronan’s ‘Old Bill’ characters. With Knives Out 2 and it on the cards, it’s shaping up to be a bumper year for funny throwback murder mysteries.Robert De Niro and Jack Huston will star in Wash Me in the River.

Robert De Niro, Jack Huston and John Malkovich star in this film which is unlikely to get a big release, but could be pulpy genre fun. A fairly straightforward revenge film, Huston plays a former oxy addict who sets out to get revenge (with a nail gun) on the drug dealers responsible for selling the drugs that killed his fiancee. De Niro is — we’re guessing — the sympathetic sheriff on his trail. US rapper and trap star Quavo stars as a head honcho drug boss who is either nailing it or not.

2022 is, well, almost here, and it’s brought a slew of new horror movies to get our hearts pounding. Whether you’re a horror movie lover, or just looking to throw a scary movie marathon with your friends and need something new to pick up, you won’t be happy because this year’s horror movies disappoint. Hasn’t happened. Fresh Fuel ups the ante on modern dating, while the Scream remake reprises one of the most infamous characters in horror movie history. And here’s the good news: Horror fans can look forward to the rest of 2022.

Yes, there’s still some screaming to be done, as the movies arrive in theaters and on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. for the rest of 2022. From Jordan Peele’s new thriller to the final chapter in the Halloween reboot trilogy, these year-round horror movies are guaranteed to make every hair stand on end. In addition to horror stories like A24’s Men or the psychological horror Smile, there are some not-so-scary but charming (pun intended) classics coming out this fall, like Hocus Pocus 2. We certainly can’t be the only ones who’ve been dying to find out what trouble the Sanderson sisters have been up to for the past 30 years (and this post-credits scene is definitely making us wonder what might happen next Is).

One of the first horror movies to be released in 2022 is Scream. The fifth installment of the horror franchise takes place twenty-five years after the original, and finds a new Ghostface killer who hunts victims from the OG.

A handful of original cast members are returning, such as New Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette. But we’ll also meet several new residents of Woodsboro, portrayed by Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minnette, Jake Quaid, Gina Ortega and more.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The classic slasher series is back. But this time, it will air exclusively on Netflix. As a direct sequel to the original 1974 film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the story revolves around Leatherface and a new set of victims who unwittingly disturb his home. Cast members include Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yorkin, and Neil Hudson.

Fed up with the state of dating apps, Noah (played by Normal People’s Daisy Edgar Jones) finally has her sweet moment when charming Steve (played by Gossip Girl’s Sebastian Stan) walks into her grocery store. communicates with Nova gives Steve her number, goes on a date with him, and quickly falls head over heels.

The two then head off on a romantic weekend getaway—but the rosy picture soon ends when Nova discovers Steve’s poor appetite. “It’s about giving, giving yourself to someone, becoming one forever. That’s what love is,” Steve said of the trailer.

Amma

Directed by Iris Shum, this supernatural thriller stars Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh and Atypical’s Fowl Stewart. Both the actresses play mother and daughter, who live a quiet life as beekeepers on a farm. But then Oh’s character, Amanda, receives her mother’s remains from South Korea and is told that “as long as she stays in the box, her anger will grow.”

• Amanda’s life soon becomes haunted by her mother’s spirit, as her daughter questions what other lies and secrets she has been hiding. “Don’t be your own mother,” the trailer warns.

Morbius

Starring House of Gucci’s Jared Leto, this spine-chilling tale from Marvel revolves around biochemist Michael Morbius. Things go terribly wrong when he tries to cure himself of a rare blood disorder, but instead, accidentally turns himself into a living vampire. Here’s the official trailer description: “The line between hero and villain will break.”

Morbius was originally scheduled for release on January 28th, but Sony announced that it would be pushed back by three months to April 1st. No official reason has been given, but the delay is suspected to be due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak.
